Can I used the Family-NCD to purchase from another insurer?

It is not transferrable to other insurers. This is a unique and innovative feature of our product to provide customers and their loved ones the best value they can get.

Do I still need to make an accident report even if there are no damages to my vehicle or a private settlement had been reached between parties involved?

Under the Motor Claims Framework (MCF), in any accident regardless how minor it was, it is a requirement that an accident report be lodged in any of our Approved Reporting Centres within 24 hours or by the next working day. Your insurer will do the necessary and review the matter upon receiving the signed Private Settlement form.

What is Public Liability insurance and who needs it?

Public Liability insurance indemnifies your business against: 1) All sums you are legally liable to pay for compensation in respect of: - accidental bodily injury to any person; and/or - accidental loss of or damage to property belonging to third parties within the territorial limits during the period of indemnity and happening or caused in connection with your business. 2) All costs and expenses of litigation recovered by any claimant against you in respect of a claim against you for compensation you are legally liable to pay.

Does the policy cover extreme sports?

Climbing, mountaineering, racing or motor rallies, speed testing, speed contest, underwater activities involving the use of underwater breathing apparatus (including but not limited to diving), martial arts, parachuting and other extreme sports which involve one of the following elements of speed, height, a high level of physical exertion or specialized gear are not covered.

Can I purchase only the $5,000 Security Bond without the accompanying insurance?

No. The Security Bond is included in our Enhanced MaidAssure along with MOM’s minimum medical and personal accident insurance as a package. We do not offer just the Security Bond.

Can I buy Waiver of Counter Indemnity after my policy has incepted?

No, you are not able to purchase the Waiver of Counter Indemnity after policy has incepted.

I recently cancelled my FDW work permit, how do I cancel the policy?

MOM will issue the discharge letter 1 week after the FDW has left Singapore. Please provide us with a copy of the discharge letter to proceed with your cancellation.Please note that the effective date of insurance cancellation will be determined based on the discharge date from MOM, not the date when the work permit is cancelled.

Are pre-existing medical conditions covered?

It is only covered under Hospital & Surgical Expenses if the FDW had been under your employment for more than 12 months.

As an employer, is there a way to limit my liability on the $5,000 Security Bond?

Yes, you can. We offer Waiver of Counter Indemnity as an optional add-on. With this, your liability on the $5,000 Security Bond is capped at $250, and the insurer covers the rest if the bond conditions are breached. However, this does not apply to any breach of bond conditions due to your negligence or fault.

What does your Motorcycle insurance cover?

We have 3 plans to suit your needs. The Comprehensive plan covers loss or damage to your motorcycle, as well as third party liability for bodily injury and property damage.

Do I need Motorcycle insurance in Singapore?

Yes, it is illegal to use a vehicle in Singapore without a valid insurance cover. At a minimum, you must have third-party insurance, which covers injury or damage caused to other people and their property.

Do you cover everyone who use my motorcycle?

All riders need to be named in the policy. Unnamed riders are not covered.

Does your Motorcycle insurance cover me while I am riding in Malaysia or Thailand?

Our policy covers you when you ride your motorcycle in West Malaysia, the Republic of Singapore and that part of Thailand within 80.5km of the border between Thailand and West Malaysia.

Does your Motorcycle insurance cover usage of motorcycle for food, parcel or other delivery services?

We do not cover usage for food, parcel or other delivery services.

Can I buy the Comprehensive Family NCD Builder Plan if the policyholder is not driving?

Yes, You can let us know that the insured is not driving during the purchase by indicating the Main driver details separately which the policy is being underwritten on.

Will I lose my NCD if there is a break in ownership of my vehicle?

Most insurers in Singapore will allow you to keep your NCD should there be a break in vehicle ownership for up to 24 months. Some insurers set the timeframe at 12 months. You should contact your insurer for details.

If I made a claim under my Private Motor Car insurance policy, am I still entitled to a cancellation refund?

You will not be entitled to a cancellation refund if there is a claim made under your Private Motor Car insurance policy.

Are there any additional excess(es) imposed on Unnamed Drivers?

If your policy covers Unnamed Drivers, there are additional excess(es) for Unnamed Drivers and Unnamed Young or Inexperienced Drivers. Such additional excess(es) will be applicable on top of the standard policy excess. Please refer to your policy wording for more information.
