How do I determine the effective date of the policy?

Here's how you can determine the effective date based on each situation:For New FDW:The policy's effective date should be the date your FDW arrives in Singapore. This ensures that insurance coverage begins when the FDW starts her employment duties upon arrival in the country.For Transferred FDW:The policy's effective date should be the day you wish to apply for the issuance of her work permit at MOM. This ensures that insurance coverage is in place when the FDW's work permit is processed and approved for transfer to your employment.For Renewal FDW:The policy's effective date should be one day after the current work permit's expiry date. This ensures that insurance coverage seamlessly continues without any gaps when renewing the FDW's work permit for continued employment.

Who is eligible for ECICS Personal Accident Insurance?

The Insured Person must be: - a resident of Singapore who is permanently residing in Singapore; and - between 18 and 65 years old (both inclusive) at the time of application.

Is there any coverage for Outpatient Medical Expenses (For Illness)?

Yes, we offer it as an optional add-on that covers outpatient medical expenses for illness that does not require hospitalisation. This benefit can cover up to $60 per visit, helping to ensure your FDW’s health needs are taken care of without added financial strain.

Why is it important to make an accident report?

The accident report will provide us with the necessary information should there be any claims made against you for the accident. Failure to report the accident may result in you handling and settling any claims on your own.

Can I claim from ECICS Motor Excess Protector Insurance if my motor insurance claim is below the policy excess?

In the event of an accident involving your registered vehicle, your insurer for your motor insurance policy must have paid out a claim amount higher than your policy excess in order for you to seek reimbursement on the excess you have paid from your ECICS Motor Excess Protector Insurance Policy. If the claim amount paid out is lower than your policy excess, you will not be able to seek reimbursement from your ECICS Motor Excess Protector Insurance Policy.

What is a Security Bond?

A Security Bond is a commitment to reimburse the government if either you or your FDW violates or fail to adhere to the terms and conditions of the work permit. This bond typically takes the form of a banker's or insurer's guarantee. For each FDW you employ (excluding Malaysian helpers), you are required to purchase a $5,000 security bond.

What does your Motorcycle insurance cover?

We have 3 plans to suit your needs. The Comprehensive plan covers loss or damage to your motorcycle, as well as third party liability for bodily injury and property damage.

Do I need Motorcycle insurance in Singapore?

Yes, it is illegal to use a vehicle in Singapore without a valid insurance cover. At a minimum, you must have third-party insurance, which covers injury or damage caused to other people and their property.

Do you cover everyone who use my motorcycle?

All riders need to be named in the policy. Unnamed riders are not covered.

Does your Motorcycle insurance cover me while I am riding in Malaysia or Thailand?

Our policy covers you when you ride your motorcycle in West Malaysia, the Republic of Singapore and that part of Thailand within 80.5km of the border between Thailand and West Malaysia.

Does your Motorcycle insurance cover usage of motorcycle for food, parcel or other delivery services?

We do not cover usage for food, parcel or other delivery services.

What is an “Unnamed Driver” in motor policy?

Unnamed Driver refers to someone who is not named under a private car policy.

Do you have Excess Waiver in your Private Motor Car insurance policy?

Yes, we offer complimentary excess waiver of up to $750 (depending on your current NCD%) for the first claim in a policy year when you repair your accident car at ECICS’s authorized workshops and share your in-car cctv footage with us.

How should I declare my claims?

Please declare all claims (excluding windscreen claims) made against your private car insurance during the past 3 years.

If the policyholder made a NCD withdrawal, will it affect all the Family NCD members?

No, all earned Family-NCD remains intact so long as the policy is in-force. Each Family NCD member can only utilize their Family-NCD once with us and is not transferrable.

Who can buy ECICS’s Private Motor Car insurance?

You are eligible for ECICS Private Motor Car insurance if: - you and your named drivers (if any) is/are the resident(s) of Singapore possessing a valid NRIC/FIN; - you are the main driver and owner of the Private Car; - you and your named drivers (if any) is/are not an existing ECICS’ Private Motor Car Policyholder with claims. - Neither you nor your named drivers (if any) has had his/her driving license (any class) suspended or cancelled in the last 3 years; - Neither you nor your named drivers (if any) has had his/her private car insurance refused, declined renewal or terminated by any insurers; - Your Private Car is or will be registered with the Land Transport Authority (“LTA”) and; - Your Private Car is not and will not be used for commercial purpose, hire and reward, rental or leasing.
