Is ECICS Home Contents insurance on first loss basis?

Yes. ECICS Home Contents Insurance is arranged on a first loss basis, which means you won’t be penalised for underinsuring. In the event of a claim, we will cover loss or damage up to the coverage limit you’ve selected.

What is a Security Bond?

A Security Bond is a commitment to reimburse the government if either you or your FDW violates or fail to adhere to the terms and conditions of the work permit. This bond typically takes the form of a banker's or insurer's guarantee. For each FDW you employ (excluding Malaysian helpers), you are required to purchase a $5,000 security bond.

What does your Motorcycle insurance cover?

We have 3 plans to suit your needs. The Comprehensive plan covers loss or damage to your motorcycle, as well as third party liability for bodily injury and property damage.

Do I need Motorcycle insurance in Singapore?

Yes, it is illegal to use a vehicle in Singapore without a valid insurance cover. At a minimum, you must have third-party insurance, which covers injury or damage caused to other people and their property.

Do you cover everyone who use my motorcycle?

All riders need to be named in the policy. Unnamed riders are not covered.

Does your Motorcycle insurance cover me while I am riding in Malaysia or Thailand?

Our policy covers you when you ride your motorcycle in West Malaysia, the Republic of Singapore and that part of Thailand within 80.5km of the border between Thailand and West Malaysia.

Does your Motorcycle insurance cover usage of motorcycle for food, parcel or other delivery services?

We do not cover usage for food, parcel or other delivery services.

Is my NCD transferable?

In principle, your NCD applies to you and not to your vehicle. For example, if you sell your vehicle and buy another one, you will retain your NCD. However, if you own more than one vehicle, you might have a different NCD for each vehicle. You should check the details with your insurer, but generally: Your NCD can- - Be transferred if you decide to switch insurer. - Be transferred to another vehicle you own, but it cannot be applied to more than one vehicle at any point in time. For example, if you have accumulated a 30% NCD while using one vehicle, it does not follow that the same NCD applies to any other vehicle that you own or decide to buy. In other words, you will have to earn the NCD for each vehicle separately Your NCD cannot- - be transferred to another person, except for your spouse and within the current insurer only. Transfer of NCD to your spouse will not be applicable if you renew your policy with another insurer.

Where can I make the accident report?

You can report the accident at any of our Authorised workshop that is also our appointed Accident Reporting Centres within 24 hours of the accident.

How do I submit a motor claim that involves Theft or Fire or Acts of Vandalism?

Proceed to any of our Approved Reporting Centres within 24 hours or by the next working day with a copy of the police report. We will proceed to process the Fire or Acts of Vandalism claims once investigation is completed. For Theft cases, as the police will need three months to complete their investigation therefore we will only pay out the claim after the investigation is completed.

What if one of the Family NCD member had an accident on another vehicle not insured by ECICS or a different policy?

The Family-NCD will not be affected as it follows the policy's claim experience. However, his past accident history will be taken into consideration when the Family NCD member get a new quote from us.

Who must be present and what documents are required for the accident reporting?

The driver involved in the accident must report personally, with a copy of the Driving License and NRIC, and the certificate of insurance to the Accident Reporting Centres. The vehicle must also be made available for photo-taking at the time of reporting.
