How to Make a Claim

Please notify our Claims Department within 21 days of the incident that gives rise to a claim.

Our claims team will review and get in touch if clarification or further documentation is needed.

To help us assess your claim, please prepare the following documents (where applicable):
Photographs showing damage or loss
Completed Home Content Insurance Claim Form
Original receipts or proof of ownership of affected items
Repair or replacement quotation

Yes, valuables such as jewellery, watches, works of art, and antiques are covered up to 35% of your contents sum insured per policy year, subject to a limit of $2,000 per item. Cash is covered up to $1,000 per policy year.

How do I make a claim for Home Content?

Please notify our Claims Department as soon as possible, but no later than: ​

  • 2 days for theft due to break-in, fire, malicious damage or vandalism, and​
  • 30 days for any other incidents. ​

Is ECICS Home Contents insurance on first loss basis?

Yes. ECICS Home Contents Insurance is arranged on a first loss basis, which means you won’t be penalised for underinsuring. In the event of a claim, we will cover loss or damage up to the coverage limit you’ve selected.

Does the ECICS Home Contents insurance only cover fire?

ECICS Home Contents Insurance protects against insured perils such as fire, lightning, storm, flood, burst pipes, impact from vehicles or aircraft, riot, malicious damage, and burglary. In addition to covering your home contents, the policy also includes worldwide personal liability for you and your household members.
