What does the Enhanced MaidAssure Insurance cover?

Enhanced MaidAssure is a comprehensive insurance plan for your Foreign Domestic Worker (FDW) that covers the following benefits:- Accidental Death or Permanent Disablement,- Hospital & Surgical Expenses,- Replacement/Re-hiring Expenses,- Wages & Levy Reimbursement,- Repatriation Expenses,- Insurance bond guarantee. For more information, please refer to the policy wording. Alternatively, feel free to call us at +65 6206 5588, WhatsApp us at +65 8956 5588, or email us at customerservice@ecics.com.sg.

How do I determine the effective date of the policy?

Here's how you can determine the effective date based on each situation:For New FDW:The policy's effective date should be the date your FDW arrives in Singapore. This ensures that insurance coverage begins when the FDW starts her employment duties upon arrival in the country. For Transferred FDW:The policy's effective date should be the day you wish to apply for the issuance of her work permit at MOM. This ensures that insurance coverage is in place when the FDW's work permit is processed and approved for transfer to your employment. For Renewal FDW:The policy's effective date should be one day after the current work permit's expiry date. This ensures that insurance coverage seamlessly continues without any gaps when renewing the FDW's work permit for continued employment.

Why is the policy not exactly 12 or 24 months?

The coverage period for our Enhanced MaidAssure is 14 months or 26 months with the additional 2 months included as mandated by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) in case the FDW overstays in Singapore after her work permit expires.

What are the payment methods available?

We accept payment via Visa/Master Retail Debit or Credit Card online.

Does the NCD Protector protect all the Family NCD members?

No, it does not. ECICS NCD Protector only protects the policyholder/insured. It does not extend to cover all the Family NCD members.

What do I do if my vehicle is not drivable?

You may call our 24-hour helpline at +65 6206 5588 (option 9) to have your vehicle towed or alternatively you may call our Authorised Workshops in the list.

If the policyholder made a NCD withdrawal, will it affect all the Family NCD members?

No, all earned Family-NCD remains intact so long as the policy is in-force. Each Family NCD member can only utilize their Family-NCD once with us and is not transferrable.

What is NCD? How does it work?

A No-Claim Discount (‘NCD’) is an entitlement given to you if no claim has been made under your policy for a year or more with the current/existing insurer. It reduces the premium you have to pay for the following year. This is your insurer's way of recognising and rewarding you for having been a careful driver. There is a standard followed by all insurers in setting the NCD, depending on your type of vehicle (private, commercial or motorcycle) and the period of insurance with no claim. The following table shows how the NCD is set by all insurers across the industry. Private Car Period of insurance with no claim Discount on renewal 1 year 10% 2 years 20% 3 years 30% 4 years 40% 5 years or longer 50% Motorcycle/Commercial Vehicle Period of insurance with no claim Discount on renewal 1 year 10% 2 years 15% 3 years or longer 20%

Why should I not accept assistance from towing services or workshops that appeared at accident scene?

These workshops are not under ECICS Limited authorised partners and we have no control over the repair quality. If the repair is poorly done, we will not be able to assist you should issues arise. Furthermore, the claim cost may be inflated, resulting in higher premium in your next renewal.

Do I need Motorcycle insurance in Singapore?

Yes, it is illegal to use a vehicle in Singapore without a valid insurance cover. At a minimum, you must have third-party insurance, which covers injury or damage caused to other people and their property.
