Does ECICS Personal Accident insurance cover minor injuries or outpatient treatments?

Yes. The policy covers outpatient medical expenses (including TCM and Chiropractor treatments) incurred up to your plan limit for injuries due to an accident.

What are my options available if I am not at fault for the accident?

Claim directly against the Third Party who is liable for the accident. You can bring your damaged car / motorcycle to any of our Authorised Workshops or your own preferred workshop who can assist you to file the Third Party claim; orClaim Own Damage claim under your policy if you have purchased a Comprehensive coverage. You will need to pay necessary Policy Excess (if any). The workshop will then assist you to recover against the Third Party’s insurer for the Excess paid.

Are the charging benefits stackable?

This benefit can’t be combined with other Charge+ charging offers, but it may be stacked with ECICS Insurance promotions if you meet the qualifying criteria. Do check our promotions page to find out more.

What if I change my mind?

We get it – plans can change. If you are replacing your FDW after purchasing the policy:a. Prior to policy effective date, you may provide us with the new FDW details. We will make the necessary changes on the policy replacement. The promo can be re-applied to the replacement policy but please note that the promo can only be re-applied on a replacement policy once if the original policy has not started. b. If the policy has started and you need to replace your FDW, you have 90 days from policy effective date to cancel and a further 90 days to issue a replacement policy. You will get 100% refund for the original policy but unfortunately, the promo cannot be re-applied to the replacement policy. If you no longer require an FDW, you may get a 100% refund if you cancel before the policy incepts. Please take note that all cancellation date shall be based on the security bond discharge date from MOM and not the work permit cancellation date.

Can I make amendments to the policy after I’ve purchased the insurance?

Certain amendments (e.g., typo error in name or passport number or change in effective date) can be made before the policy effective date. However, a re-transmission to MOM may be required depending on the type of amendment.

Is there any coverage for Outpatient Medical Expenses (For Illness)?

Yes, we offer it as an optional add-on that covers outpatient medical expenses for illness that does not require hospitalisation. This benefit can cover up to $60 per visit, helping to ensure your FDW’s health needs are taken care of without added financial strain.

As an employer, is there a way to limit my liability on the $5,000 Security Bond?

Yes, you can. We offer Waiver of Counter Indemnity as an optional add-on. With this, your liability on the $5,000 Security Bond is capped at $250, and the insurer covers the rest if the bond conditions are breached. However, this does not apply to any breach of bond conditions due to your negligence or fault.

Can I make amendments to the policy after I’ve purchased the insurance?

Certain amendments (e.g., typo error in name or passport number or change in effective date) can be made before the policy effective date. However, a re-transmission to MOM may be required depending on the type of amendment.

What is the difference between Outpatient Medical Expenses (For Accident) and Hospital & Surgical Expenses?

Your insurer will do the necessary and review the matter upon receiving the signed Private Settlement form.

Are there any additional excess(es) imposed on Unnamed Drivers?

Excess, also known as the deductible, is the first amount of the claim that the policyholder needs to bear in view of the claim.

Why should I not accept assistance from towing services or workshops that appeared at accident scene?

These workshops are not under ECICS Limited authorised partners and we have no control over the repair quality. If the repair is poorly done, we will not be able to assist you should issues arise. Furthermore, the claim cost may be inflated, resulting in higher premium in your next renewal.
