What is a Motor Excess Protector insurance?

ECICS Motor Excess Protector Insurance reimburses the excess amount you are required to pay under your motor insurance policy when you make a claim. It helps reduce your out-of-pocket expenses after an accident.

What does the Motor Trade insurance cover?

It covers your legal liability to third parties in the event of accident caused by or arising out of the use of motor vehicles in connection with your motor trade business.

When is the campaign period?

The campaign runs from 9th August 2024 to 31st December 2024. Transactions outside this period are not eligible.

Where can I make the accident report?

You can report the accident at any of our Authorised workshop that is also our appointed Accident Reporting Centres within 24 hours of the accident.

What factors affect my premium for ECICS Non-Motor Excess Protector Insurance?

Premiums vary depending on several factors, including the sum insured, the type of coverage, the excess amount on your primary policy, and your claims history. Each policy is unique, so premiums are tailored accordingly.

If I cancel my policy, will I be entitled to a refund?

Refund Policy (Upon Policy Termination):0 to 30 days in force – 80% refund of premium31 to 90 days in force – 50% refund of premium91 to 180 days in force – 30% refund of premium181 days and beyond – No refund100% of the premium will be refunded if:a) The Policy is cancelled within 90 days from the policy effective date and replaced with a new ECICS Enhanced MaidAssure policy; orb) The In-Principal Approval (IPA) is terminated and the FDW did not enter Singapore.Provided there shall be no refund if: • Any claim has been made or has arisen under the Policy; or • The premium refund is less than $27.25 (inclusive of GST). Please refer to General Conditions point 19 of the policy wording for the full cancellation terms and conditions.

Can I include a named driver in my Private Motor Car insurance policy?

Yes, you can include as many named drivers as you want in your Private Motor Car insurance policy subject to underwriting and additional premium.

What is the time frame for me to report the accident?

Report the accident to us within 24 hours or by the next working day and our representatives will help you with the accident reporting.

If a named driver comes out to purchase an entirely new policy with ECICS utilising his earned Family-NCD, can he continue to be named driver in the Family NCD policy and continue earning Family-NCD?

In the event that he utilise his earned Family-NCD to buy a new policy with us, he can still remain in the Family NCD policy as a named driver but he will not earn another Family-NCD. The Family-NCD can only be used once per policy per named driver.

Why is it important to make an accident report?

The accident report will provide us with the necessary information should there be any claims made against you for the accident. Failure to report the accident may result in you handling and settling any claims on your own.

What are my options available if I am not at fault for the accident?

Claim directly against the Third Party who is liable for the accident. You can bring your damaged car / motorcycle to any of our Authorised Workshops or your own preferred workshop who can assist you to file the Third Party claim; orClaim Own Damage claim under your policy if you have purchased a Comprehensive coverage. You will need to pay necessary Policy Excess (if any). The workshop will then assist you to recover against the Third Party’s insurer for the Excess paid.

Do I need Motorcycle insurance in Singapore?

Yes, it is illegal to use a vehicle in Singapore without a valid insurance cover. At a minimum, you must have third-party insurance, which covers injury or damage caused to other people and their property.
